FBD is a small NYC interior design firm dedicated to creating unique and functional interiors for discriminating residential and contract clients. While each project reflects the personal vision and specific requirements of the client, every job is characterized by a strong commitment to design excellence, as well as an affinity for details and special materials.
Although projects range from a 600 square foot co-op to a 23,000 square foot Park Avenue office, FBD prides itself on bringing in jobs "on time and on budget." Clients are encouraged to be as involved in every aspect of the design process as they like. This often results in long-term relationships and additional joint ventures. A current project is a 6,000 sq.ft. artist's residence loft in Noho.
Upon receiving a Masters degree in Environmental Design from Pratt Institute in 1979 and working for large architectural firms, Freya Block, ASID opened her own studio in Chelsea in 1986. From 1995 - 2000, she taught Professional Practice for graduate students at Pratt. She is currently involved in designing and renovating 19th century farmhouses and launching a new line of furniture for the Millenium Group. (See Special Projects).
